The starchy tables were inspired from a childhood memory where grandmothers used to starch fabrics until they became almost structural. It was very special experience to eat over these crisply starched white tablecloths during holidays. In the Starchy table, a rectangular metal sheet was bent to form the tabletop. The thin metal has the appearance of a neat tablecloth, and it lends strength to the wooden structure.
